Article of the Day: Tesla Building in China
Elon Musk has recently announced that it will produce its version of the Model 3 electric vehicles for the Chinese market in China. They will be working with a China based manufacturer to produce the lower-priced sedan within the country. The Tesla Model 3 would be the upcoming $35,000 version of their electronic vehicles, made for mass market, not just the luxury market. The reason they would be building local for their Chinese Model 3 market is to cut costs in import taxes and to streamline the registration process. All other Tesla Models would be made in the US, even the ones sent overseas, just not China. They are hoping to start production in 2017.
