Article of the Day: Volkswagen Sales Report

In November, Volkswagen sales have plunged nearly 25% overall in the United States, according to a report Tuesday morning, though overall industry sales have sky-rocketed. Volkswagen sales have fallen 24.7% overall, as well as a 60%  decline in the flagship Passat sedan. The Volkswagen Golf, highly acclaimed and critically praised, fell 64%. Obviously the cheating scandal 'DieselGate' had a lot to do with the fall in sales, though it wasn't just diesel VW's that were affected. As well as the fact that on November 2nd, the EPA gave VW, Audi, and Porsche a second Notice of Violations. Though the other brands have not been affected by it. Though the scandel might not have been the only reason sales fell, as VW has been selling a lot of older-model cars that haven't been competitive as of late, as well as the stop-sale on certain models that VW put into effect. Globally, Volkswagen sales declined 3.5% in October. No Global sales numbers are available yet for November. Hope you've sold your VW stock by now!
