Article of the Day: Driverless Car Survey

In a new survey undertaken by Volvo, of some 10,000 respondents worldwide, they have found an interesting trend. It shows that an overwhelming majority of 92% of respondents said that for a driverless cars they would want the driver to be able to take control of the car no matter what, any time possible. This means that a lot of car companies are going to have to put in steering wheels and pedals where they might not have planned for, if they want the public's confidence. 'Concept 26', an automotive technology company, proposes a retractable steering column that would withdraw out of the way when not in use, along with a driver seats that could transition between 3 different positions.
